We seek to provide a strong foundation for confidence and curiosity for our pre-schoolers. We are very proud to say that we acquire the best of every child’s potential and help them shine every year at events such as:
• Colour Day – “Over the Rainbow”
• Field trips
• Elocution competition
• Kindergarten Graduation[/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=”Our Goals” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:26px|text_align:center” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_separator][vc_column_text css_animation=”top-to-bottom”]Our aim at the pre-school is to create a fun filled, enjoyable, happy environment for the children to look forward to being a part of every day. We are eager to facilitate learning physically, emotionally as well as intellectually. Our curriculum ensures extended learning and development of your child on the whole.
Further we encourage each child to be independent. For instance, while painting the children learn that they need to have an apron, paper, paint pots and brushes to carry out their work. They help teachers and each other clean up when the activity is over. Group time is planned; the children begin to recognise names and sounds, they enjoy sitting together for story time.
When children are ready to use Math and pre-language equipment, they start by sorting colours, sizes and shapes; these help build basic Mathematical skills and confidence.

We help develop hand control by teaching children how to use scissors, paste, colour and draw
• We facilitate developing hand and eye coordination
• Helping children trust new adults and become accustomed to new situations
• Experimenting with all sorts of materials and activities
• Building confidence and strengthening secondary socialisation while monitoring positive attitudes

Learning processes are visual, tangible and activity based for children to proceed with a strong foundation and an active imaginative mind. Such is the philosophy of learning and benefiting throughout their years of school. Children in school have an opportunity to extend their learning through Music, Art, P.E. and Computers.
[/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=”Pick and Drop Rules” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:26px|text_align:center” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_single_image image=”817″ css_animation=”bottom-to-top”][vc_separator][vc_column_text css_animation=”bottom-to-top”]These rules are essential and important as well. Our country is going through fragile times and timings need to be kept and followed accordingly.
• Being punctual is the best way for your child to begin his/her day positively
It is extremely disruptive for the teacher to have children trickling in during the lesson.
NO LATE COMERS WILL BE ENTERTAINED.
• If early leave is required please inform the office. Your child can be picked up from the reception. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS ONLY IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY
• Collect your child promptly at home time. Late pick-ups result in stress and insecurity. A settled and happy child is reluctant to come to school if the pick- ups are not prompt
• Your child’s school ID card must be presented daily at the gate.
• Drivers are not allowed inside the school premises.
• Try your very best to collect your child, however if there is a change, do notify the school office and please send a written note to the class teacher.[/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=”Gifts of Teachers & Management Staff” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:26px|text_align:center” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_separator][vc_column_text css_animation=”top-to-bottom”]
The above is an important reminder to parents that the school strictly does not allow this practice. Please refrain from direct dealing with the domestic staff.
Parents help your child to be positive and begin this by teaching your child to dress and undress his/herself. Being toilet trained is essential, teach your child to identify his/her washroom needs in time.
Please understand that children in prep take time to settle down. Some take this big step smoothly and happily while others take longer. Be patient with your child’s teacher and your child to make this transition a positive experience.
Children in the kindergarten are a little older however the transition may or may not be a happy one – short goodbye’s and trust while handing over your child means a lot. Do not stress yourself, parents tend to pass negative energy on to their little ones and this may prolong the transitional period.
[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css_animation=”bottom-to-top”]Helping your child’s teachers
Please provide the school with your updated home and work telephone numbers and addresses. The telephone numbers should be reachable at all times. Incase of emergency; please provide alternate numbers to be contacted upon also.

The pre-school learning programme builds awareness and teaches children to direct their interest in a meaningful manner. Learning the necessary skills and academics are not the only focal points at this tender age, we are also concerned about your children being healthy and most of all happy. Keeping this in mind, The World Academy Preschool has a meal plan, which caters to your child’s optimum healthy needs.

Note: Candy, fizzy drinks, chocolates and gum are not allowed on any days of the week. Please refrain from sending in cold sticky noodles, as they are not at all appetizing or enjoyable. Please encourage your child to drink as much water as possible. Juices and canned soft drinks are not allowed. A consistent follow up of the meal plan is necessary for your child. Let’s work together from the very start to ensure a happy, healthy, motivated child.

Sharing time is once a week. During this time the children love bringing a book or a toy from home. Please ensure that all items sent from home are clearly labeled with your child’s name.
Birthday treats are welcome if they are kept simple and organised. Please inform the teacher a few days in advance by sending in a note and remember the treat must be brought in at 7:40 am. A delay in bringing the treat in on time can cause a loss of teaching/learning time and will not be accepted once the Gates are closed.
The basic items required for a birthday treat in school are:
Due to the current situation, the school issues each child with an I.D. card. This card is extremely important and must be shown at the main entrance gate by whosoever collects the child.
If by any chance you have misplaced the I.D. card, a hand written application for a duplicate must be submitted to the office immediately.
Important issues – Regularity and Punctuality
Please see that your child is on time every morning. This gives an opportunity to interact with their peers/teachers to commence their day happily. Parents, it is important that your child is picked up on time so that the experience of starting pre-school is not one of stress and insecurity.
Discipline and conformity around the child help him/her to develop into a stable person.
Being regular is the basis of doing well. Your little ones have a comprehensive curriculum, which demands regularity to perform well. The school discourages unplanned holidays during the academic term. 80% attendance is compulsory.
These meeting are held twice in the academic year.
• First Parent/Teacher meeting
Third week of October
• Second Parent/Teacher meeting
Second week of March
If you require a meeting with your child’s teacher or coordinator please feel free to call the office for them to arrange a feasible time. Do give the admin a couple of days in hand to set up a meeting.
It is important that your child’s attire is clean and neat every morning. Do see that your child is checked for head lice regularly at home. In case lice is discovered, your child will be asked to take leave from school until the problem has been addressed. It is requested that you do not send your child in to school until you are sure their hair is clean and lice free.
[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css_animation=”left-to-right”]
Please check the website regularly for daily updates.
Due to unforeseen circumstances in the city, holidays will be confirmed on the website latest by 9 pm.
